Halloween Decoration Winner at ADP Probusiness
The production department, of which I am a part in my role as Senior Production Specialist, won this year’s Halloween decoration contest at ADP Probusiness. That’s my monitor surrounded by the flashing skull lights. That’s not why we won though. The Raven in the corner is a better representation of the overall quality of effort put into the Halloween decorating. Props out to Marissa, Joe, Rhiannon and Keisha, who I think did most of the work.
Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Carving
Just in time for Halloween, I headed up the family Jack-O-Lantern carving project. The pumpkins didn’t stand a chance. My son, daughter, niece and nephew each took charge of their pumpkin through gutting to the finished Jack-O-Lantern.
Halloween Pumpkins Purchased
Going into the home-stretch for Halloween, we purchased four pumpkins at Safeway this afternoon. Had to dig through some smashed, rotten and disfigured pumpkins to find four of suitable size and shape. We go for the small jack-o-lantern size. No huge pumpkins this year.
These particular guys were marked at $6 apiece. That’s the Safeway Club Card price. Fortunately for us, we got the small ones out of the big bin, and the cashier rang them up for $3 apiece, which I think is a more reasonable price for a Halloween pumpkin. Carving will commence shortly, and then we’ll have jack-o-lanterns and baked pumpkin seeds.
My New Blog
This is the first post of my new personal blog! I’ll be recording my personal entries, such as event, beer, restaurant and small business reviews, and other thoughts of a personal nature in this blog, rather than in http://bottlecapnapkin.blogspot.com. That blog will now be called “Pleasanton Web Design Blog” and will host my technical, and business postings.
It seems like a natural progression to split the blog into pieces. The basic reason is so that Web searchers, as well as my regular reader(s) will be likely to find more articles of interest in close proximity, rather then having to wade through the variety of diverse topics that I have previously posted in the same blog.
“Plate O’ Shrimp” is the working name right now (any of you who are programmers out there will understand how that unclosed single quote is bugging me). It’s a running element in the movie “Repo Man.” Incidentally, my son, Otto, was named for the main character. To me the meaning of “Plate O’ Shrimp” is akin to the concept of synchronicity. Not time to explain now. You’ll just have to listen to the song by The Police, or watch Repo Man for elaboration! Or not.
